Daddy Cam

Taylor was home with the kids today. He has missed them the past two nights with teaching his night class. I love getting updates and pictures and phone calls throughout the day. "Mommy, I miss you all day" So sweet!

Her second dress for the day, such a girl!

Date Night with Mommy

Miley and I had a date night on Wednesday. I think it is important to do fun things with the kids on a one on one basis every once in awhile. Since Taylor was teaching his night class I left Cooper with Nana and Miley and I headed to the Deli in town and had dinner with Jackie and Grayson. (as Miley would say, No Boys, Just Girls (besides Grayson)) Miley was very well behaved and she got an ice cream cone when we were done eating. She then decided she wanted to take a walk around town as we finished our ice cream cones and then we sat and chatted for a little while. She is truly a Bodette because she certainly has a lot to say! I love my baby girl. Oh, wait, she corrects me- I love my big girl!

Count Your Blessings

Death
Passing of a loved one
To take into God's hands

It's weird how death works. Especially when it is someone who is too young to die, a mother of a little girl, a wife of a husband, a family member. I always wonder why God chooses who he chooses and why he chooses to take them when they are so young. A good friend of mine has been tested, with the lose of her mother in the battle of Alzheimer's and now a sister-in-law with a failing heart and kidney function and is in her last days. My heart goes out to her and her family and my tears as well. Her sister-in-law has a little girl named Gracie and soon her mommy will only be a memory. Luckily for Gracie, Laurie is a Super Aunt and I know she will be very close to Gracie as she grows up. I know God has a plan and I just hope for peace to her and her family.

And for everyone else, Count your Blessings Daily. You never know when God will take them away from you. You may think that you are having a rough day but just think of those who are watching a 'too young' loved one in their lasts days. Maybe you will think twice about what is 'so bad' in your life and maybe be thankful that you have something to complain about.

Cherish every hug
Cherish every kiss
Cherish every squishy cheek and I love yous

May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Who's Who?

4th of July

We had a very busy 4th of July. We went to the fair on Saturday and rode rides and the parade and fireworks on Sunday. Miley's favorite ride was of course the tilt-a-whirl again. She is at the age where she loves rides but doesn't quiet understand that we go on the ride and then get off and go and do something else, she wanted to keep going again, again, and again.

The heat was too much for Cooper, he slept for a majority of our fair visit.

Miley waiting to dance and showing Nana which ride she wanted to go on first, the ferris wheel

The lady bugs!!

Her favorite ride!

Cooper finally woke up!

Riding the pony!

Her famous pout stance, mad she had to get off the ponies and let the other kids ride.

Sparklers!

Miley's Swimming Lessons 2010

Miley was in swimming lessons as the Y again this spring in Hastings. This time her last two classes they had the moms break away from the kids for part of the lesson and work one on one with the instructor. She did very well and is very confident in the pool, maybe a little too confident, she must have a floatie on when we are even close to water because she just heads straight in. She will have one more parent/child lesson next spring again and that will be her last parent/child lesson.

Here are some pictures from her last class.
